Vietnam is one of the world’s major industrial centers. Total export revenue of Vietnam jumped 22.2% year-on-year from January to June 2011, and industrial output increased 4.5% over the same period. 

In addition, despite Vietnam has affected by the global inflation and the volatile economy in Europe & the United States, Vietnam’s GDP still recorded a significant growth rate. The General Statistics Office of Vietnam indicates that Vietnam’s GDP rose 4.38% in the first half of 2012 and could reach 4.66% in the second half of the year, and 1.55% of the total GDP is contributed by industry and construction sector.

Recently, a survey found that Vietnam was the third popular investment destination in Asia. In the first six months of 2012, foreign direct investment (FDI) was at an estimation of $5.4 billion USD, rose 1.9% from the same period in 2011.
